Our Team has been very busy continuing working in Denver with a construction company – installing more Salto Access Control Systems in a large multi-family residential project.

Take a look at this – this is a mullion-style Salto Card Reader, meant to be installed on the frame of a door or gate, instead of the wall next to it. These are typically used in situations where there is no adjacent wall to mount a reader (or if the customer requests a smaller, sleeker reader). The nice thing about these is all hardwired doors in Salto act as a hotspot; they update cards on the fly, as access data is stored on the card physically. This is a boon because in the event of card updates, management will never have to collect all cards and update them en-masse. Once the user hits the hotspot, their card is automatically updated with any changes to their credentials (whether it be adding or removing access) being pushed directly through that reader.

That reader is connected to what looks like an HES 9600 strike, which releases when a valid credential is presented, and stays locked when there isn’t one. The crashbar on the backside allows for free egress, so anyone who had access doesn’t have to worry about needing their card to leave.
